This week we visited London Marriott Hotel County Hall on Westminster Bridge Road while carrying out a site visit for potential clients. Sitting right on the banks of the Thames, the hotel has a unique presence in one of London’s most recognisable locations and immediately feels a little different from the moment you arrive.

The hotel has a really unique atmosphere, with a strong sense of history running through the entire building. The décor leans into that classic old London style, with artwork throughout the corridors and public spaces that reminds you of the building’s past. It feels elegant but relaxed at the same time, and the whole place has a calm, unhurried energy that you do not often find in central London hotels.

One thing that stood out straight away was the beautiful open drive and entrance. In a city where many hotels are tucked onto busy streets, this felt like quite a luxury and created a great first impression before even stepping inside.

The Library was another highlight. It really has that wow factor. Guests can choose from over one hundred different gins while looking out across the Thames with views of Big Ben, which makes it a pretty special spot for a drink.

We also loved the small touches around the hotel. In one of the hallways the team support a charity called Magic Breakfast where guests can purchase an Origami Lantern for five pounds, with all proceeds going towards providing breakfast for children in schools. It is a simple but thoughtful initiative that stood out during our visit.

From an events perspective the venue has a lot to offer. There are some beautiful private dining spaces which would work perfectly for client entertaining or special celebrations. The hotel also offers large meeting rooms, including one with a generous outdoor balcony which is a rare find in London and a great addition for events.

The suites are particularly impressive too. Many of the larger rooms look directly onto the river and Big Ben and come with a small terrace where guests can sit outside and enjoy the view. Again, something you do not see very often in London hotels.

Another nice feature is the guest lounge, where snacks and drinks are included in the room rate. It offers a comfortable space with seating, televisions, work areas and power points which makes it easy to relax or catch up on work during your stay.

Overall the London Marriott Hotel County Hall feels like a bit of a hidden gem. It is full of character, the bedrooms are extremely spacious and the service from the team was fast, friendly and professional throughout our visit. A great option if you are looking for somewhere with history, views and a relaxed atmosphere right in the heart of London.
