Welcome to The Bleeding Heart, where romance meets history. Family-run since it was founded by Robert & Robyn Wilson in 1983, our legendary venues set the scene for private events, great and small, from intimate gatherings of 12 to celebrations of up to 200 guests.

Our long-established and extremely popular Restaurants offer superb food in historical surroundings, minutes from the City and London’s West End. Bleeding Heart Yard is named, according to the history books after the 17th-century beauty, Lady Elizabeth Hatton, who was found murdered here by a jealous lover – her body torn limb by limb, her heart still pumping blood onto the cobbledstones.

With all year round outdoor seating and its striking 19th Century French wine posters and an eccentric Vineyard Sculpture the Bistro combines a warm ambience and cheerful yet highly professional service with French-inspired dishes plus a great-value list of 350 wines by the bottle and more than two dozen by the glass. Once noted by City AM as “the best French Bistro in London”, it also has a 60 seat covered Terrace, highly popular throughout the summer for its a Seafood dishes and its chilled Rose.

We have a number of Charming and Atmospheric Private Dining Rooms seating from 12 to 124 all offering the warm hospitality and impeccable service for which Bleeding Heart is noted throughout the City of London, and beyond.

For over 40 years, our Private Dining Rooms have been the City of London’s first choice for client entertaining, business meetings, banquets, weddings, wine tastings and any event that calls for a celebration.

The venues are unrivalled in their diversity: four individually decorated Private Dining Rooms attached to two our very distinct restaurants – The Bleeding Heart’s Bistro & Terrace, and the Tavern & Bar.

We can host events for 10 to 200 people seven days a week and we are justly proud of our experienced and personable Private Events Team who will help you choose which of our private or semi-private rooms will provide the right setting for your event, whether it is a lunch, dinner or evening reception party.
